Today on Tea Around the World, we try Ironwort, or sideritis raeseri. In Greek, sideritis translates into "he who is made of iron". The name of this plant is the stuff of legend; some claim that it's name comes from it's ability to heal wounds dealt by iron weapons, while others claim the name originated because it looks like the tip of an iron spear. Medicinally, ironwort is used to treat a number of common ailments, including stomach problems, allergies, and more, and is being investigated for chemotherapeutic effects.
As always please take all health claims with a grain of salt - ask your doctor before starting any herbal treatment, and do your research! That being said...
There are multiple articles on pub med about studies on ironwort's essential oil. Here is a place to start: [ Ссылка ]
