SESSION 65 of the trial of Adolf Eichmann took place in the afternoon of Monday, June 5, 1961. The topic of the Sobibor extermination camp, which was introduced in SESSION 64, continues here with the testimony of Moshe Bahir. Bahir testifies about his experience in the camp and his memory of a visit to Sobibor by Eichmann. Next, Ya’akov Biskowitz testifies about his time in Sobibor and his role in the revolt there. Documents regarding Sobibor are submitted into evidence by the prosecution, after which Michael Podchlewnik testifies, shifting the focus from Sobibor to the Chelmno camp. He recalls digging ditches for the disposal of Jewish victims who had been gassed in trucks. After discussing his experience there, Mordechai Zurawski testifies about his own experience at Chelmno.
The vast majority of SESSION 65 has been lost, including the entirety of Bahir and Zurawski’s testimonies. The approximately 20 minutes of surviving footage is presented here.
