I love the Dolomites, but they have a big problem...they seem to be prone to bad weather, more than any other place I've been to. It might just be our luck though 😂
In August we had a long weekend booked to do some epic Via Ferratas. The weather prognosis didn't agree with our plans though.
On day one we were lucky to get a good weather window and managed to go to the top of the Sella group via Ferrara Possnecker (Delle Mesules).
During this hike, we met two English hikers who advised us what to do in case of bad weather, the short but engaging Via Ferrata Col Rodella.
So during the following day, when our weather luck ran out, we decided to go and try this Ferrata instead.
Conveniently placed opposite to Possnecker, on Passo Sella, Ferrata Col Rodella didn't disappoint. An amazing climb with some fantastic views, and definitely a great option for anyone with a limited weather window.
