It’s been a long time coming, but the release of the 2023 Chery Omoda 5 late next month marks the return of the Chery brand to Australia after a seven-year hiatus.
Pricing is yet to be announced, but two variants of the all-new small SUV will take aim at market leaders like the Hyundai Kona with drive-away pricing in the low-$30,000 range, a seven-year warranty and an extensive standard equipment list.
Base and EX versions of the Chery Omoda 5 will be joined by EX+ and all-wheel drive variants, followed by five-seat Tiggo 7 Pro and seven-seat Tiggo 8 Pro medium SUVs late this year, and then a host of other new models as the Chinese car-maker aims to be a top-five auto brand in Australia within five years.
