FLIGHT REVIEW:

INTRO | Connecting through Singapore Changi Airport is easier than ever. Singapore Airlines utilizes both Terminal 2 and 3 for its operations. Skytrain is available till midnight making it more convenient switching between terminals.

The boarding lounge was opened 1 hour before the departure time. Surprisingly, the load for this late night flight was full. Many holiday makers and business travelers utilize this last flight as their onward connection from other Singapore Airlines flights.

PLANE | This flight utilized Boeing 777-200ER non retrofitted cabin which is mainly used for regional flights in Asia and some Australia/New Zealand destinations. Although the cabin has shown its age but it is still kept clean and well maintained.

CABIN CREW | The crew were professional and attentive. As soon as the seatbelt sign is turned off, the cabin crew had no time to waste. Since Singapore-Jakarta is the shortest route (only 1 hour 25 minutes) that Singapore Airlines operates by serving full hot meal. The service seemed rushed but still professional at the same time. As a passenger i could feel how their team work to deliver the meal service in a limited time was truly appreciated.

INFLIGHT MEAL | There were 2 choices available for main course, Lamb or Fish. This time i went for the lamb option. This was what i got in the meal tray:

x LAMB RENDANG WITH STEAMED RICE AND CURRY VEGETABLE

x CHOCOLATE CAKE

x MINERAL WATER

x ORANGE JUICE

I also asked for a glass of red wine to compliment the main meal. I received my meal just after the captain announced to secure cabin for arrival in Jakarta.

BOTTOM LINE | It is very interesting to fly Singapore Airlines after quite a long while. Although some products and services have been downgraded to cut cost, but the professionalism of their cabin crew made up for that. What an excellent flying experience with Singapore Airlines.
