Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Timken replacement bearing and race set. Now, this is a high quality L68149 tapered roller bearing and an L68111 race that's gonna replace a bearing and race for your number 84 spindle on your trailer. If you're not familiar, Timken is one of the most well known and highly trusted brands in the industry because their products are engineered with higher quality controls. So, that's gonna ensure tighter tolerances and run outs than other manufacturers and that's gonna help to reduce vibrations and noise and lead to longer bearing life when you have it properly installed. That higher quality is also evident in the way the product is individually packaged and oiled.

So, when you get it, it's gonna be in good condition, but of course you wanna make sure that you're getting the right setup, or bearing and race for your setup the most. The easiest way to ensure that is to see the industry standard number that's printed on that inner cone there. So, you can see we've got our bearing number listed there and then on our race, we've got that printed on there as well. So, these do go together. So, if you don't see that number on your bearing, but you do have that number on your race you can trust it's gonna work.

Now, the only other way to tell is by measuring. So, we can measure the inner diameter of our bearing here, but that is gonna be very precise. So, you wanna use some digital calipers that go down to a thousand thousandth of an inch. You can see that our measurement there is 1.378, so make sure that works for you. And for our race, we'll measure the outer diameter.

You can see, outer diameter, we're sitting at 2.361 of an inch. So, again, if you can find those printed numbers on there, it'll be easier to match this up, but if you can't find those, you can always measure, but it's a little bit more difficult because it is so precise.
