I am building an 8 string guitar.
The project is ambitious. Though playing a lot, and having build a guitar about 15 years ago, this version is much more detailed and demanding.
First of all, I don’t want to buy a ton of new tools. I have a fair amount of tools, and that has to do.
Second, I want to build everything from readily available materials. That includes Tuners and pickups.
Third, this guitar is a test for everything. The next one will be build with the knowledge learned from this.
For instance, I am knowingly using cheap wood. Why wast 500 euros on wood, if the project does not take off? The same goes for the rule of NOT buying tools. So, this guitar will not be everlasting.
