In this video, I go on location to a residential reroof project where the roofing company is using asphalt shingles to replace an old and bent Calpac metal roof. The reroof happened before this homeowner could go solar and have solar panels installed onto their new roof.
There was some dry rot and areas where the plywood under the old roof was damaged and needed to be completely replaced. It's a good thing that this roof was reroofed prior to going solar! The homeowner is getting a lifetime warranty on the roof from the roofing company and a 10 year roof warranty against leaks from the installation company.
As for solar panels being installed, they had REC 405 watt panels installed, along with Enphase Microinverters and a Tesla Powerwall 2 installed. They are still waiting on a main panel upgrade to be completed. It was schedule for the day before installation, but PG&E cancelled it. So, now we have to wait for that to be rescheduled.
