JAPAN could be about to send futuristic 'Spider-bots' into it's sewers in a scene right out of a science fiction film.
The robot is equipped with a 360-degree camera system and eight legs which allows it to move around sediments and other obstacles. Tmsuk plans to put SPD1 on the market in 2024.
Yuji Kawakubo, Tmsuk CEO said: “Currently, we are developing the SPD1 for inspection purposes. In future, we hope it will be able to carry out not just inspections, but also carry out simple repairs, which is currently being done by humans.”
