Cybele Grandjean

Cybele is a designer, educator, and speaker specializing in product design, branding, typography, and art direction. She leads the product design team at Hearst where she is currently heading up their accessibility efforts. Cybele is the co-founder of Area of Practice, a design and branding consultancy based in New York City. She has created websites, apps, and design systems for companies like Frog Design, The New York Times, Brown University, and Apple.
Cybele has given talks about design, accessibility, storytelling, and typography for professional organizations from New York City to Oslo. She teaches Core 1: Interaction at Parsons School of Design, and have given guest lectures at Rutgers, SVA, and Keane University.
Fred Confer

Director of ITUX + A11Y Center of Excellence at BMS in which he oversees a passionate team of UX researchers and designers that serve up a set of standards, tools, and processes to help BMS deliver usable and accessible digital capabilities. In addition, Fred leads an analytics team that measures user sentiment and satisfaction across the BMS enterprise. Fred is an empathetic advocate for those with disabilities as one of his family members struggles with dyslexia.

November Champion is a Sr. UX Accessibility Specialist for Edward Jones. Her purpose is to center the voices of disabled people in organizations and digital products, and only sometimes does that include her own voice. November’s career focus turned to digital accessibility over 12 years ago while at Thomson Reuters. She then spent seven years at Wells Fargo standing up and maturing digital accessibility programs, and managing digital accessibility experts. Her Bachelors’s is in Industrial Relations/Human Resources and Political Science from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, and her Juris Doctorate is from Saint Louis University, with an emphasis in employment law. November and her husband, Mike, live in St. Louis – he’s where she got the last part of her awesome name. She serves on the board of local non-profit Starkloff Disability Institute. While not working or volunteering, November enjoys European-style board games, true crime podcasts, and listening to her nephew ramble on about whatever YouTube channel kids are watching these days.

Ted Drake is the Global Accessibility Leader at Intuit, a financial software company that creates TurboTax and QuickBooks. Ted leads a distributed team of Accessibility Champions; working together to power prosperity. Prior to Intuit, Ted co-founded Yahoo’s Accessibility Lab and was a developer evangelist. Ted speaks regularly at technology conferences and is a member of the steering committee for the Web4All Conference on accessibility research.
Ann-Marie Alcántara

Ann-Marie Alcántara is a reporter for CMO Today at The Wall Street Journal. She was previously a retail reporter at Adweek, covering retail and e-commerce. A New York City native, she is now based in Brooklyn.
