"So at the moment our medical doctors are treating, you know, things like common cold, throat infections, fever, gastrointestinal problems, sickness and diarrhea. All things really associated with not having access to adequate hygiene and adequate shelter. And, in particular, we know that children are most vulnerable in circumstances like this. So, we really are seeing increased number of children in our clinics really suffering with relatively moderate illnesses, but things that really could be prevented if they just had access to adequate shelter."

"The situation is very dire, as you see or hear, more than 10,000 people spent another rainy night here in the open, with families and children. And this is a too heavy burden on the children as well. So we are trying to support the authorities here in Greece with human resources, bringing in more shelter, trying to establish and set up places. But Greece is struggling, this is very important to understand, that Greece cannot cope alone with this issue, there needs to be support from EU, and that support needs to come quick, otherwise we are afraid that we are already into a humanitarian crisis where pressure is building."

STORYLINE:
Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) on Friday decried the deteriorating conditions for migrants and refugees at the camp in Idomeni.
Some 10,000 people - around a third of those trapped in Greece in total - remain packed into a field at the camp on the Greece-Macedonia border, unable to cross because of restrictions imposed by countries on the Balkan route.
Greek police said 130 people were allowed to cross the border on Thursday.
Migrants said Macedonia had not been accepting computer-generated stamps issued by the Greek police, and therefore they couldn't prove their identity documents were genuine.
