When an accident happens, there are two perspectives a client should consider: 1. Collection of evidence as soon as possible and 2. When to bring the claim.
There is a statue of limitations which determines the period of time in which you can bring a claim. In the state of Florida it is generally a certain number of years from the time of the accident, typically four years or longer. Specifically for maritime law it is normally three years. However, the cruise ticket can outline their own guidelines outside the statute of limitations only allowing one year.
