There are TWO different points of entry; Upper Antelope Canyon or Lower Antelope Canyon.
If you’re after the famous light beams, it is UPPER Antelope Canyon which is an ‘A’ shaped canyon. Best time to visit for light beams is between 11am - 1pm. The hike is more of a stroll as the walk is completely flat - no stairs and no ladders. You can only enter on a Navajo guided tour and tickets sell fast in high season so book well in advance (at least a month). Cost $140 per person.
Lower Antelope Canyon is ‘V’ shaped and personally apart from the light beams, I found this more beautiful as more light enters so you see some truly stunning rock formations and the red rock shines beautifully as the sun hits it. This has steep ladders and some sharp twists and turns so is definitely more of a hike - I found it more fun too! Cost $55 dollars.
These are the main things you need to be aware of when considering you’re options, I did both as a first timer and I’d recommend doing that if you have the time. Base yourself in Page to stay overnight and include Horseshoe Bend viewpoint and kayaking to make a full 2 day itinerary of it then head down to Grand Canyon after.
Save this for future reference🇺🇸
