Back pain occurs in over 70% of the population! There are certainly many things that can cause the back to hurt, but one thing I often see if a lack of strength and stability in the muscles that surround and support the back.
The biggest culprits are the muscles in the hip and side of the butt that help to keep the pelvis even. When these muscles don't work properly, there is a lot of stress and strain that is placed on the spine.
Even when we do strength training, these muscles are often missed. We need to do side to side movement and training in order to strengthen these muscles.
In this video, I go over standing and lying down exercises with a band to help strengthen these muscles.
