Cathedral and Mt. Carmel both had seven CIF titles coming into the championship match, third most in San Diego history.

Dons senior libero had three consecutive digs on one point that was easily the best rally of the day, a day with three CIF finals (division II, I, Open).

Cathedral lost the point but won the match and CIF title 3-1.
