The Lord Bhattacharyya Engineering Education Programme is an initiative launched by the Royal Academy of Engineering in March 2020.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is funding the five-year, £2.5 million programme in memory of the late Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya CBE FREng FRS, founder of WMG (formerly the Warwick Manufacturing Group). Lord Bhattacharyya led WMG for nearly 40 years until his death in March 2019. He was a leader in industry-academia collaboration, and was extremely passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and technicians.
WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Coventry, is one of the institutions involved in the programme.
