Making the most of a short growing season is a challenge faced by all Northern gardeners, but while many solve this by growing transplants indoors, I have found that, with a little ingenuity and planing, you can direct-seed just about everything outdoors, and still get a good harvest. In this presentation I discuss the relative pros and cons of transplanting vs direct seeding, and then talk about how I make direct seeding work in my garden.
