Welcome to Kingston Kayak Club's UPDATED Video guide to the Upper Tees, from just below High Force to Low Force.
Following a very polite contact from North Pennine Partnership, we have amended the video to follow the Low Force Code of Conduct which can be found here: [ Ссылка ]
As paddler it is important that we respect agreements like this to ensure our access to rivers and protect the environment.
The amendment has also given us the opportunity to include some footage of the river at 2.03m on the Middleton gauge.
We plan to put together a range of videos covering the River Tees.
In these videos we only focus on the main rapids, if you can cope with these then you'll manage the sections in between.
Each section has been shot at low and high waters to give you an idea of the rapids. The video in annotated with the rapid name, grade and river level of the current video you are watching. We have also noted any other hazards to be aware of.
0:24 - Skip Intro
0:45 - River Overview
0:51 - 1st Rapid
1:40 - S-Bend (also know as dog leg or salmon leap falls)
3:40 - Horseshoe Falls (only paddled in low water)
3:52 - Low Force
4:39 - Low Force Code of Conduct
Disclaimer : White water paddling is a hazardous sport, please ensure you get appropriate training before taking on the river.
Rivers change so we'd always advise inspection before shooting any rapid.
