~~~~~~~~~~~There's a winter storm warning out for out area.

They are using words like 'historic' and 'extended power outages'.

Guys... it is SEPTEMBER! We don't usually have snow until well into November. As you can imagine, this has us scrambling a bit.

Gas tanks full for generators. DONE!

Animals all snug and secure for winter temperature. DONE!

Bring in ALL of the harvest from both the main crop and the cottage gardens. Ummm...

What a job... but it is almost done. The kids are picking the last of the apples off the 80 year old apple tree as I type, and from all the squeals I'm hearing, they are having A LOT of fun doing it!

While we would usually try to put out a Pantry Chat tonight Josh and I just couldn't break long enough at the same time to get it together.

So I thought I would take a few minutes while all of the kid craziness is outside (you can hear them when I take you into the pantry) and give you a quick homestead kitchen and pantry tour so you can see what a crazy harvest day looks like in our house!
