In this video, I will be showing you guys my journey from Lachen to mighty Gurudongmar lake Sikkim. The altitude of Lachen is 8500 ft. and in just 3 hrs we will be at above 17500 ft. Gurudongmar lake is one of the highest lakes in the world and in India, at an elevation of 17800 ft, Gurudongmar lake is probably the most astounding lake on the planet. It is considered sacred by Buddhists, Sikhs and Hindus. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava-also known as Guru Rinpoche-founder of Tibetan Buddhism, who visited in the 8th century. Distance from lachen is around 70 km, from Gangtok is around 190 km. and from mangan distance is around 125 km. From Lachen it will take almost 3 hours to reach the lake, the landscape and view of the whole road journey are simply breathtaking.
