Save Lamu Organization, a community-based organization on behalf of the Lamu county community has joined the global community in addressing the urgent climate crisis caused by fossil burning. The organization has been fighting to stop the proposed coal generation plant in Lamu for years and won a court case against the state in 2018.They are now calling for a transition to renewable energy to save the planet.
