Singapore's health ministry confirmed 1,426 new cases of coronavirus infections on April 20, a record daily jump that took the city-state's tally to at least 8,014. The Southeast Asian country has managed to mitigate the Covid-19 spread by rigorous contact tracing and surveillance, but the number of cases has risen sixfold since the start of the month as outbreaks among migrant workers began.
