Everyone has a right to breathe clean, smoke-free air.
In the WHO Western Pacific Region, millions of people are still exposed to second-hand smoke even in indoor areas. In China alone, 100,000 people die each year from diseases caused by second-hand smoke. The good news is that the country is ready to go smoke-free. According to the findings of a recent China Adult Tobacco Control Survey, 90% of the public is supportive of a complete smoking ban in workplaces, hospitals, public transport and schools.

This video is the first of a two-part series produced by WHO China in collaboration with the National Health Commission to promote the campaign entitled, “Healthy China is a Tobacco-free China.”
