Hurricane Fiona is a major Category 3 hurricane and is moving north of Turks and Caicos late Tuesday. It is the first major hurricane of the year, and it is expected to grow into a Category 4 over the next couple of days. It will pass just west of Bermuda on Thursday night into Friday morning before moving toward Nova Scotia and Newfoundland this weekend as strong storm.
Tropical Storm Gaston formed Tuesday afternoon in the central Atlantic. It may strengthen some, but it should drift generally north in the central Atlantic and pose no threat to land.
