Pinefinders started in 2001. We're in
Haddenham in Buckinghamshire, near the old
market town of Thame. I've got a 2,750
square foot warehouse full of old pine
furniture. We've got wardrobes, dressers,
bookcases, chest of drawers, cupboards,
dresser bases, some beautiful blanket
boxes. All sorts of things here which we
import mostly from Eastern Europe. The
stock's turning over very quickly so
there's always something new to see. Most
of the furniture dates from the early to
mid-1800s to the 1930s. I've very good
sources of furniture coming from Hungary,
East Germany, the Czech Republic, and
Romania. A few bits from Russia as well.
I've got great suppliers, and they come
over with huge amounts of furniture I can
pick and chose what I want. Nearly all
of it was originally painted, and it's
recently been stripped so that cleans it
all, that sterilizes the wood and kills
all the woodworm, if there was any
woodworm in it. And then it comes to me.
We also make tables from old pine
floorboards, so they look authentic
and they have a lovely patina, so when
we wax them, they look beautiful.
We also make benches to go with them,
which we can make from the same boards
and bookcases from new pine. We find that
most of our customers come to us and like
the old pine furniture because everything
is unique. Everything is a one-off,
and you'll never find anything exactly
the same in here. Most people who buy
our furniture find it goes nicely with
whatever furniture they've got,
to be honest, if it's pine. We get
new deliveries of furniture
arriving around about every two to
three weeks depending on how busy we are
and there's an emailing list which you
can sign up to receive an email when a new
delivery arrives. Most of the furniture on
the website is shown in the bare wood.
We can paint it or wax it.
Most people like it wax-finished.
The prices on the website include the wax
finishing and any restoration needed.
We can sell the furniture as it is,
in the bare wood. You can just contact me
for prices or reduced price. When you're
waxing, if you get into any problems,
just give me a call and I can talk you
through it. You can buy our furniture
online now. I recommend, if at all
possible, coming to see the piece
of furniture before you buy it. You can
buy online, and obviously, you can also
phone me up and pay over the phone
by card. I've got a company that delivers
nationally all around the UK. If you're
buying a wardrobe that dismantles,
because most of our big wardrobes do
dismantle, I can come and deliver myself
and that way I'll know that it's put
together properly. I like to deliver
personally, locally, because it's just
nice to get to know the customers.

coming in every few weeks because I have
new stuff coming in, just for inspiration
and getting ideas. And you'll usually find
