Queer people face stigma on a daily basis, ranging from the murder of trans people to the suicide of young children due to bullying to consistent attacks on queer trans activists.

The government only supports heterosexual families, calling it “the quintessential building block for its existence.” The state argues that changing the legislative policy of a country that is deeply embedded in religious and societal norms is not feasible. However, it's crucial that we redefine the marriage equality question and include intersectional identities without privilege or social capital to ensure equal treatment.
