With the Easter weekend approaching, Maundy Thursday saw 35028 Clan Line on the Belmond British Pullman round trip through the Surrey Hills, from London Victoria to Shalford and return.
Firstly, the Merchant Navy is seen rounding the corner past Virginia Water and accelerating away from a speed restriction, 15 minutes late owning to following a late running freight. Due to this delay we were almost caught out at our next location, Byfleet and New Haw, so my better than nothing and very unprepared shot sees the locomotive powering away from the Junction, which we could hear upon running onto the Platform.
The highlight of the day however would make up for this, which would be capturing the train on a public foot crossing (filmed without tresspassing which may not seem so obvious) at Blackhealth Lane, Chilworth, shortly after its Water Stop, in 3 shots, including one from a new GoPro I recently got which was positioned on a fence behind me, which shows the locomotive powerfully hauling its 13 coach load over the bridge towards Gomshall Bank.
The wreath on the front of the locomotive was for the late John Adams, The Membership Secretary for Clan Line's Trust, who sadly passed away on the 12th of April.
