In the second ODI, Sri Lanka and New Zealand went head-to-head at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. New Zealand batted first and posted 209 runs before getting all out in 45.1 overs. Sri Lanka showcased a great fighting spirit and chased down the target in 46 overs against a solid Kiwi bowling attack. In the end, Sri Lanka sealed a 3-wicket win and Kusal Mendis was the player of the match for his unbeaten 74-run knock.
