Welcome back to our channel for another delicious recipe!


In this video, I am showing you how I make my Homemade Falafel! Most people use dried chickpeas for this recipe, but I wanted to keep it super simple for you with caned chickpeas, so we can start straight away with it!
You can use this as part of your main dish, but it's also great as a snack.

You can save your liquid from the chickpeas (also known as Aquafaba) for the following delicious desserts:

The ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- 2 cans of chickpeas
- 1 medium-sized onion
- 10-15 garlic cloves (depending on your taste pallet, but also the size of them)
- a bunch of parsley (we got a lot of homegrown parsley from a friend of ours - so we keep it in the freezer)
- 1 tbsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of cumin
- 1/2 tsp of chili flakes (or more if you like it spicy)
- 1/2 tsp of turmeric
- 1,5 tsp of dried paprika
- 1/4 cup of sesame seeds
- 50ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tbsp of toasted sesame oil
- 100g of gram (chickpea) flour

To start off, go ahead and clean your onion and garlic cloves and put them into the blender/food processor) together with: parsley, salt, cumin, chili flakes, turmeric, and dried paprika - blend it up!
Now go ahead and put the drained chickpeas, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and lemon juice - don't over-blend it, you want to have some nice chunks of chickpeas under your tooth!

Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add the gram flour to it and nicely mix it with your hands - leave the mixture on the side for about 20 minutes and then you can form your falafels out of it!

You will get about 20 falafels out of this mixture, once ready, add about some cooking oil to your pan (at least to cover half of the falafel) and bring it to proper frying heat - the falafels will fry fairly quick, so don't lose them out of sight.

You will get nice & crispy falafels from the outside with a delicious moist inside!
