In line with the firm instruction of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Secretary Arthur Tugade to promote Active Transportation and to fast track the construction of Bike Lane Networks in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao, officials from the Department of Transportation and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inspected the ongoing construction of Bike Lanes along EDSA.

The construction of bike lanes aim to help cyclists to have an access to safe and secure transport lane that will help them get to their work and other destinations.
