"What inspires me to continue to create is my community, the Black community, feeling uplifted, and allowing people to feel like they're being seen." says tattoo artist Doreen Garner, who uses the pronouns she/her/king.
The Philly-born, Brooklyn-based artist first got into tattoos because of the lack of Black representation in the industry. She started tattooing in 2017, and has been met with acclaim ever since.
There’s a lot of noise that tries to drown out Black voices, but Garner won’t be silenced.
