Our Chairman’s award 2019!
Let us talk about a place, a place where ideas
are forged, a city that has overcome struggles,
such as violence and inequality becoming an
example for the rest of the world in creativity
and innovation.
A city that reflects in its citizens faces
the love and commitment to achieve its biggest
dreams.
Our dream is to transform Medellin into a
scientific, technological and cultural hub
that allows the incorporation of opportunity
building individuals who spark ideas for the
future.
Colombian innovation program (CIP) was born
towards the end of 2015 by 45 eager students
from six different schools, as of today we
are made up of 10 schools both private and
public adding up to a total of 67 students
ranging from all different social classes.
Back in 2013 Medellin was awarded the most
innovative city in the world by the Wall Street
journal and Citigroup, in CIP we wish to and
are continuing this process.
In the Colombian Innovation Program, we have
a dream, a dream to build a city and a country
for the world, to achieve that team 6001 has
managed to include FIRST philosophies in the
educational systems of its schools.
CIP’s goal is to catapult STEM knowledge
in our city; oriented towards kids, teen and
teachers; through FIRST by working towards
the first FRC regional in South America.
So far, team 6001 has helped 43 younglings
without the economic resources in their studies
by including them in the team and defying
traditional social structure.
In addition, CIP has contributed to the formation
of team 7403 lightning blue lizards and is
in the process of creating another team.
Furthermore, off-season the team engages in
different activities like our preseason build
off, design reviews and advertising campaigns
by which the team, has had the opportunity
to be on local newspapers and local news.
All this in order to strengthen abilities
in programing, fabrication and CAD designing,
prioritising teamwork, impact and fun.
There are still things to create, ways to
transcend what we already have and transform
the universe we share.
