The Tartan Horde was a project of Nick Lowe. Tartan Horde released two singles, this is the 1st of them. The 2nd one was released only in Japan. These singles were made after Brinsley Schwarz split up and before Nick Lowe signed to Stiff Records (1976).
Lowe wanted to get fired from United Artists and he thought that the best way was to make a single like this, a fan record for BCR. But as you can hear, this is a very catchy song ... in the spirit of Bay City Rollers. I think the backing band on this one is The Clover, who later made the charts as The News with Huey Lewis.
