IFLA ASIA-PACIFIC REGIONAL WEBINAR ON LIBRARIES
& THE SDGS

The Library and Information Association of New Zealand (LIANZA) is delighted to host the mid-term webinar for IFLA Regional Standing Committee for Asia and Oceania (RSCAO).
Library communities world-wide are engaged in responding to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. We are excited to provide this webinar to share stories, successes and challenges from library leaders from across the Asia and Pacific region.
Our five speakers focus on the contribution of libraries globally and in densely populated countries of mainland Asia and the smaller widely-dispersed populations of the Pacific.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER – LOIDA GARCIA-FEBO
An experienced IFLA leader and former American Library Association (ALA) President, Ms Loida Garcia-Febo. Loida will share global efforts being made by libraries to respond to the Sustainable Development Goals.
PAULA ESKETT – NEW ZEALAND
Paula is the Waimakariri District Library Manager and a LIANZA Past-President.
GENE TAN – SINGAPORE
Gene is the Assistant Chief Executive, Partnership & Strategy Group of the National Library Board.
RAMESH GAUR - INDIA
Professor Gaur is the Dean & Director (Library and Information) and Head-Kalanidhi Division, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi; and a member of IFLA RSCAO.
ELA QICA – FIJI
Ela is a senior librarian at the University of the South Pacific and has served on the Fiji Library Association and the Pacific Library Network. Ela was unable to present due to technical difficulties.
