Free up memory and storage to get your Galaxy moving at full speed. It’s good practice to regularly optimize your phone’s battery, storage, and memory because it gets weighed down as time goes on.
First, review its storage capacity to see if videos, images, and other files are piling up. You have a few options for freeing up space. Tap Optimize Now to close background apps and boost battery life. You can also automate your Galaxy so that it performs automatic reboots to bolster performance. You can also go into any individual category and make changes, such as deleting installation files and downloaded documents.
RAM Plus can be customized to either use more apps at once, or run less apps to free more storage.
Use Microsoft OneDrive to sync the files in your Gallery app to the cloud. To do this, open Gallery, tap Menu, tap Settings, and then tap the switch next to Sync with OneDrive.
You can also free up room by deleting screenshots. Open Gallery, tap the Albums tab, and then tap Screenshots. Select the screenshots to remove, and then tap Delete. Files can also stack up in the Trash so make sure you empty it from time to time. Tap Back, tap Menu, and then tap Trash. Then, tap More options, tap Empty, and then tap Delete to clean out the bin.
Another way to save space is to set your phone to automatically delete old text messages. In the Messages app, tap More options, Settings, and then tap More settings. From here, tap the switch next to Delete old messages.
Your phone will now purge oldest messages to make room for new ones after you reach 1000 texts, 100 multimedia messages, or 5000 chats.
To uninstall unused apps, swipe up from the Home screen to review the list of your apps. Touch and hold the ones you want to remove, and tap Uninstall. If you change your mind, you can go to the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store to download them again.
