PLEASE NOTE: Just because you have this model truck, doesn't mean it has a grounding issue. Make sure all your parts, aka Antenna, coax and mounting bracket are good. After all these parts were verified as good, the only conclusion left for why the SWR could not be adjusted below a 3.0 was because of an antenna ground plane issue. The other tip off, is that by touching the mounting bracket or the coax (NOT THE ANTENNA) the SWR would change. This is the sign of an unstable, BAD RF ground plane. The usual answer for this, is running a wire from the antenna BRACKET BOLT (Not the stud!!!) to the bolt for the door hinge(truck Body Side). This did not fix the problem. What stabilized the problem, is running a wire to the sun visor as shown in this video. This is your tip of the day. Happy CBing!
