3️⃣ Beginner Jump Rope Mistakes ❌ Been through all of these!

1️⃣ - Arms out way too far OR elbows squeezed into hips 🫣 Both are big no-nos! Larger muscle groups will tire out much faster & far out arms restrict your speed & range of motion. Pull the elbows back a bit to get your hands closer to your hips!💥 Build this habit from the start if possible!

2️⃣ - Most people start with a rope wayyyyyyyyy too long. With longer ropes, they hit the ground in front of your feet & bounce up over them OR you’ll need to jump so much higher to clear it 😰 Peep this exact problem in this reel. Do yourself a favor & cut that baby down in size. It’s also a fluid length that will shorten as you get your hands closer to your hips 😉 So don’t fall for locking into a rope size 👍🏼 & be prepared to adjust through your progress 🤍 I have vids on sizing but general rule: stand on rope with both feet, pull up on handles, and they should reach between the bottom of your ribcage & your chest 🥳

3️⃣ - Start on a beaded rope (PVC is👌🏼as well). They provide a bit of weight, but aren’t “weighted ropes” which will mess with your technique. The sensory feedback on beaded ropes cannot be underestimated. They aren’t expensive & will last on outdoor surfaces! Of course, my preference is for torqropes.com 😉
