Here's the story of how I went from 0 to at least B2 in my target language, German, by myself at home.

At the end of 2021, I began learning German. A little over 2 years later, with 10,000 words, 13 books read, and hundreds of hours of YouTube and podcasts from Germany, I hope my process shows people what language learning can look like, with only curiosity, commitment and fun required. Taking an immersion and Anki based approach, I've utilized the approach and materials of channels like @Thelinguist, @EasyGerman , @mattvsjapan, @elyssedavega, @daysandwords, @LanguageSimp, and @sprachheld. Anki is a very powerful language learning app, among other purposes, helping you learn the vocabulary and concepts you need to know to get you fluent as fast as is sustainable. Don't worry about being a polyglot when you can focus on learning a little more than you did yesterday.
