💥XRPL💥Hooks💥Evernode💥work in concert
📣Mickey Interviews prominent #XRPL Dev-Wo Jake @WoJ4ke. Very insightful conversation and discussion about the massively overlooked successor to Codius that will work in bring truly decentralized Smart Contract Dapps to #XRPL, launching on upcoming HOOKS Smart Side chain in a coupl months. This will impact you and open up tremendous amount of additional use cases for #XRP.
HotPocket is a UNL (Unique Node List) consensus engine that converts any number of Linux machines into a mini blockchain capable of cheaply and speedily running any dApp in any language at scale. These dApps can interact with almost any blockchain, including the XRP Ledger.

HotPocket's daemon can be configured to use almost any layer 1 blockchain as the coordinating message board, although its out-of-the-box configuration favours the XRPL because of that chain's speed and exceptionally low fees.
Thus, HotPocket is a "bolt-on" layer 2 smart contract solution that allows almost any layer 1 blockchain to run any dApp cheaply and speedily in any language at any scale, including the XRPL.
Daemon: HotPocket clusters can be "nailed" to any layer 1 blockchain through a daemon, called "Sashimono", that co-ordinates the cluster through cryptographically secure messages posted to the layer 1 blockchain.
In concert, these components provide an "out of the box" solution for a network of HotPocket Nodes running a mini-blockchain capable of supporting a wide variety of cheap, speedy dApps capable of interacting with almost any layer 1 chain.
GREATER FLEXIBILITY, MORE USEFUL DAPPS
HotPocket dApps don't run on blockchains, they are blockchains. Each dApp is its own blockchain with its own chain history and dedicated nodes, making them incredibly flexible.
7.2 DApps may be public or private. DApps may call external services, read and write data directly to disk and the web, and generally perform any task a regular program can, without centralisation
This flexibility solves many problems that limit mass adoption of Apps including;
(a) Privacy Compliance: Apps can encrypt data, run only on hosts in a given jurisdiction, or
(b) Scale & Flexibility: dApps can run on as few or as many hosts as the dApp developer desires from a cost and security perspective.
(c] On-Demand Oracles: HotPocket dApps can elect a sub-set or jury of their own nodes to get data from off-chain, agree on the truth, and report to the rest of the chain as a bespoke, on-
Enhanced Securily: dApps can detect when a host has become compromised or untrustworthy, shut down that instance of the dAp, and reload it on another, more trusted Node.
10/ With Hooks all the rules are open-source and public. The rules are enforced by the whole XRPL and no one can change those rules other than in accordance with the rules enforced by the Governance Game Hook. So Evernode becomes a genuinely decentralised Layer 2.
11/ Importantly, IOUs can now become counter-party free assets/currencies because they can be emitted by a Hook according to public rules that no identifiable group of people meaningfully controls. New business models become possible.
12/ Layer 2 means theres an almost infinite range of new things smart contract can do without imposing any meaningful additional strain on the XRPL. Evernode Hosts are Linux machines with an out-of-the-box consensus mechanism for its hosted contracts.
13/ Evernode contracts can be programmed in almost any language and can do anything a Linux machine can do on its own - read /write data, perform complex computations, connect to other services. Almost anything.
End/ In concert, the XRPL, Hooks, and Evernode there’s an almost infinite range of decentralised solutions/services/business models that can be delivered or explored. And its all still very fast and cheap.
