Sold to the watchmaking Scheufele family in 1963, Chopard is one of the few remaining independent brands from Switzerland. Made in Fleurier, Chopard’s L.U.C. watches exemplify Chopard’s strongly-ingrained philosophy of independence – not only are their mechanical movements produced in-house, they also make their own watch cases and smelt their own gold in Geneva.
We visited their Manufacture in Fleurier, where co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele walks us through Chopard’s L.U.C L’Art D’Une Manufacture and recaps their 25-year watchmaking history.
Discover the hidden world of Chopard's métiers d'art as we take a closer look behind the scenes, with an exclusive tour of L.U.CEUM – the brands “museum for timekeeping”, led by son Karl-Fritz Scheufele himself.
Stay tuned for part 2 where the Scheufele father and son duo discuss the future of the brand and the generational change within the family.
