Ashley Hoblit, MD, is a family medicine resident at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. Her experience as a medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine combined with her experience as a resident at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, is preparing her to be the best community medicine doctor she can be.
Ohio State’s new Community Medicine MD track will train physicians to go back into the small towns where they grew up. This will be a unique program that provides rural training and exposes learners to what rural medicine really means. That’s what makes the partnership between the College of Medicine and Bon Secours Mercy Health, made possible through the Healthy State Alliance, crucial in increasing the number of physicians caring for patients in mid-size and rural communities and being able to tackle Ohio’s most critical health care needs.
