Hi bookworms! Today, I'm beginning a new series of videos that double as resources for educators. I've been reading so many great (and some not so great) picture books since last year that supplement various units. I've done a lot of research online to find good companion picture books, but I usually put them on hold at the library without seeing them in person.
These are the five books about the Chinese New Year that we read last week, as well as two brand-new titles that I wanted but couldn't get my hands on, a graphic novel series for older readers, and a couple of props that make good visuals. Whether you host storytime, read to kids at bedtime, or implement picture books in the classroom, I hope these books help you when planning what to read for the Lunar New Year!

Today is the last day of the Chinese New Year and the day of the Lantern Festival. I wanted to get this video up last week, but kept forgetting to take pictures (and still haven't!) of some of the projects we've made this month. I also wanted to include two books I couldn't get my hands on in time, so I posted pictures instead, rather than a review. So I apologize that this is late, but hope it will be useful in years to come!
