Ganesha mantra is the most excellent mantra known to remove all obstacles. That is why today, before performing any auspicious work, people worship Ganesha and say his mantra. Lord Shiva blessed Ganesha that his devotees will worship Ganesha before commencing any important work or starting any puja.

The Ganesha mantra or Vakratunda Mahakaya Mantra blesses the devotees with the grace of Ganesha that removes any obstruction from their path. That is why commencing the marriage mantra, the pundit chants the Ganesha mantra. People also chant the Ganesha mantra before doing Grah Pravesh or the inauguration of any property. This is performed to get the blessings of Lord Ganesh to a particular event and to ward off any evil eye.
