After years of repairing (not restoring) paperback books, I’ve gotten it down to a few fast and easy steps. The results are better than if the book was new (for me anyway) because the book will stay open and I like not struggling with the binding to stay open. It also saves me a lot of money because I buy cheap used books on eBay and I don’t mind much if the book is wrecked, I actually kinda prefer a beat up book because then I have an excuse to repair it.
LINECO PH Neutral PVA glue
A large binder clip
A square and a ruler
An exacto knife
A self healing cutting mat
A Bone Folder (optional but wicked useful)
A paper plate for the glue and a paper towel cut into small squares for the glue applicator
A finger for glue application
A book press (I use a hard cover book and a Ten Pound Dumbbell)
