Here it is, my giant guide to playing Balatro and how to win against the Black Deck. If you watch this video and follow the guidance the odds of you winning should increase a lot (though, don't limit yourself to just common jokers, it makes it harder :P). If you have ever watched my streams or checked out my other runs you know it typically only takes me 30-40 minutes to finish a run, so this one is obviously loaded with a ton more information.
If you are disappointed at the ending, this is the little stream I did right after I finished recording this that shows the black deck winning with just common jokers [ Ссылка ]
If you aren't up for a long watch, or just need the absolute bullet points well:
1: Don't always try to play the same thing. Typically the game will lean you towards flushes or some type of pair (I usually go for two pair in this case). Go with the flow, let the game decide what you are playing.
2. Grab a +mult joker of any sort asap most of the time. It will help a ton early on. But you want both a +mult and +chips joker early on to stabilize things so you can easily win hands and earn extra hand money and potentially interest.
3. Good jokers are great, but aren't purely what make a run successful. There are a lot of systems in the game, and using them all to your advantage will greatly increase your odds of winning.
4. At the end of the day, just have fun playing the game. If you have fun swinging big and striking out most of the time that's fine. It really doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you are having fun doing it. This video isn't here to say you are playing wrong, or that this is the only way to play. It's to help people learn new things and potentially adapt their style a bit to something that is more stable and will win more frequently. If you know what you are doing a 50% win rate on white stakes is easily achievable, however, if you have more fun playing another way, then play that way.
With that being said, I am hoping that I covered plenty of things people didn't know, or gave insight that will aid people. I tried to give some general information, so only some of it may apply to your playstyle, and I recommend just experimenting and seeing what works for you.
As I said, if you have any questions, just leave some comments. If they are simple questions I will answer them likely within a day. If they are more complex questions I'll likely give you a heads up that I'll just make a video to respond. I can't devote endless resources to this game, but ultimately I want this video to be a great source for any newer player to come to and be able to improve their gameplay so they can get more wins. I've personally found that it's not too hard to find high end gameplay for most games, or tier lists telling you what the best of the best is, but I often don't find much content out there actually hitting the middle. Trying to help you actually understand why things are the best of the best, or how to actually elevate your play from a beginner to properly utilizing the best of the best.
