The Renault Triber is a great vehicle but here are three ways it could’ve been excellent.
First, the performance. The engine on the Triber is Renault’s 1l naturally aspirated unit. It feels calm, you can’t rush the engine, it has lag in the lower revs so you must work the gearbox and rev it out to get going, and that’s where the slow AMT gearbox leaves you wanting more.
Second, the cabin experience could’ve been more modern. The Triber’s cabin has the basics nailed. But Renault could’ve made it a more modern experience for 2023. The infotainment is usable but laggy, the instrument cluster looks dated and there is only one USB port in the entire cabin! It should get retractable three-point seatbelts for the third row too.
Third, it's good for occasional seven seat use – if you travel with six or seven on board for longer distances – you might prefer a bigger MPV – that has a bit more space, especially because with three rows up it has no boot space at all.
