Police and pro-Palestinian protesters clashed at the University of California Irvine campus on Wednesday. Students were detained after police removed an encampment and pro-Palestinian protesters briefly took over a lecture hall.

Police were called after demonstrators, demanding the university divest from Israel, blocked the building's entrance with a makeshift barricade.
