This is the first test of the new UAV Integrated Deployment System (IDS) from Tinder Rocketry. The UAV IDS is a parachute deployment system designed for the emergency recovery of larger UAV’s. This system is fairly compact, fairly lightweight and can be custom designed for your UAV. In this demonstration we are using an older 96” Iris Parachute from Fruity Chutes (The only re-seller of the UAV IDS) that has the old style Nylon lines. This 96” parachute is a very tight fit inside this 4 inch diameter, 8.5 inch tall (Inside measurement) thin walled Carbon Fiber canister. This same canister however can house the newer 120 Iris parachute from Fruity Chutes that has the smaller, lighter Spectra lines! We tested this system using a 23 gram CO2 cartridge. Larger cartridge sizes are available as well as larger canister sizes!
