The Tesla Model Y Standard Range released about 2 weeks ago, and although it has been received with mixed feelings, I believe there is more to consider than the obvious.

The Tesla Model Y SR comes with a lower price tag, but also gives up on some of the specs found in the Long Range All Wheel Drive Model Y. With less range, 1 less motor and slower performance, is the SR Model Y worth it?

I think that the SR Model Y is a great value. For one thing, it comes with everything on the LR AWD model except for that second motor and a smaller battery. Everything else found in the premium interior package is included. That also includes the unannounced heated steering wheel.

Assuming you do not have a very long commute, and do not plan to take 1,000 mile road trips, the SR Model Y is a spectacular value.

Now, if you are planning multiple long road trips, the LR AWD Model Y will be a much better option. But at $8,000 more, your budget would need to accommodate the higher cost.
