As the sun crept across the morning sky, our partners, YIARI discovered the lives of long-tailed monkeys by observing them in their natural habitat.
YIARI follow groups of long-tailed macaques to understand population dynamics and distribution in the forest. By observing macaques, they can also identify potential conflicts between macaques and humans. Their hope is that negative interactions between macaques and humans can be reduced and prevented.
For this year's International Macaque Week, YIARI are sharing their experiences about how they observe long-tailed macaques in nature. They hope that their experience can be an inspiration for many people to love and protect long-tailed macaques and other macaque relatives in their habitat.
